Fiona Georgiou Hunt began the Harrogate Writers Collective in 2021 after moving to North Yorkshire and looking for a writing community to join.
Fiona works as a writer,producer, arts consultant and trustee, who helps companies build commercially sustainable arts programmes.
Fiona started her career working on large scale stage musicals Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Crazy for You, and Les Misérables. Since then, Fiona has worked with a range of arts organisations in Australia and the UK including Sydney Opera House, Australian Theatre for Young People, Regional Arts NSW, Family Arts Campaign, The Mercer Gallery, The Script Department and Screen Yorkshire.
The current vice chair of Harrogate Theatre, Fiona is also a reader for NYC midnight international competition and as well as podcast host for The Script Department’s Women in Screenwriting and archetypes shows TypeCast, and development coordinator in the Script Department’s Writing Room. Fiona has recently worked with Screen Yorkshire in their script editing programme and is producer of the short theatre and film festival Short + Sweet Yorkshire
With a Masters in Screenwriting (Distinction) from Falmouth University, and a track record of success in the creative industries, Fiona has won screenplay awards at film festivals, been commissioned to write theatre, short films and TV, and developed writing programmes and audience development programmes for cultural institutions. She is a returning lecturer at Falmouth University in Screenwriting and has helped develop and produce numerous award-winning projects.
